Handwritten answers, graded.
Run timed assessments, read handwritten answers in most major languages, and grade them against your own rubric. You review and finish.
B1 The gravitational force acts towards the centre, at 90° to the motion.
B1 No work is done, so the speed does not change.
Velocity is a vector and its direction keeps changing. Gravity acts towards the centre, at 90° to the motion. So the speed stays the same. −1
How a test runs
From your PDF to a marked answer sheet.
Set up the test
Your paper and marking scheme, ready to share.
- 1
Test details
Add the title, subject, expiry date and total time.
- 2
Add the paper
Upload a PDF or build it manually. Questions are extracted for you to check.
- 3
Add the marking scheme
Upload it. It is read and matched to each question, and a PDF of the paper is generated.
Students sit the test
A timed attempt, answered on paper.
- 4
Open the test
They see the questions and a countdown timer, and can download the PDF.
- 5
Submit the answer sheet
They photograph their handwritten answers and submit before the timer ends.
Marks come back
Graded against your rubric, ready for your review.
- 6
Read and match
Answers are read. If written out of order, each is matched to the right question.
- 7
Grade and review
Each answer is marked against your scheme. You review and override any mark.
What it does
Every feature is included in every plan.
Timed assessmentsKEY FEATURE
Set a duration and a closing date. The countdown runs on our server, so refreshing the page never buys extra time, and every tab exit is logged for you to see. If a student’s internet or power drops, you can add time to their attempt. After the closing date, no new attempts can start.
Handwriting OCR
Reads English and Urdu handwriting, including math workings. Unclear writing is flagged for your review, not guessed.
Urdu, English and math
Native right-to-left Urdu, English and mixed papers. Formulas are read and shown as proper math notation.
Examiner-style marking
Mandatory keywords, method and accuracy marks, error carried forward, units and whole marks only, applied to your scheme.
Essays and level bands
Level-based and hybrid marking for English, Urdu and humanities, using your level descriptors across multiple criteria tables.
Paper to assessment
Photo or PDF in. Questions, marks, nested parts like 4(a)(ii), diagrams, rubric and answer key out.
Diagrams and MCQs
MCQs are marked exactly against your key. Student diagrams are compared with your mark-scheme diagram.
Answer matching
Answers out of order, or continued on later pages, are matched to the right question and part, even labels like (a)(i).
Choice questions
Handles “answer any 2 of 3” sections and counts only the questions each student chose.
Marks on the script
Highlights on the student’s own handwriting show what earned credit, what lost marks, and why. Summaries in English and Urdu.
Teacher control
Nothing reaches students until you publish. Override any mark, or tell the AI what to reconsider and accept or reject its revision.
Class analytics
Class averages, trends over time, weak-concept alerts and a student-by-test mastery matrix for each class.
Learning paths
Each student gets a diagnosis of weak concepts, a short revision plan and bilingual practice questions.
Pricing, per month
Every plan has the full platform. Only the monthly page volume differs.
Basic
Ideal for individual educators and smaller assessment batches.
Pro
Designed for active educators, departments and higher grading volumes.
Custom
Tailored for institutions and large-scale examination needs.
- Flexible page limits
- Customized invoicing
- Dedicated support
Prices in PKR, billed monthly. Each plan’s page allowance is per month. Introductory pricing for a limited time.
Know teachers who mark a lot of papers?
Introduce them to Rubrics Ai and earn a share of every subscription. It continues each month while they stay subscribed, for up to one year per teacher.
Questions
What is Rubrics Ai?
A teacher’s assistant for assessments written on paper. You turn a question paper and marking scheme into a timed online test. Students answer by hand and submit photos or a PDF. The platform reads the handwriting, marks it against your scheme, and gives you the results to review before students see anything. It is built around Cambridge and national curriculum papers.
How accurate is the AI marking?
It follows your mark scheme instead of its own opinion: words you mark as mandatory must appear, level descriptors are respected, and no answer can score above its question total. Every question also gets a confidence score, and uncertain ones are flagged for your attention. It is still AI, so check results before you publish them.
Do students see marks before I approve?
No. Every result waits in your review queue, and the AI’s score stays hidden from the student until you publish it.
What if I disagree with a mark?
Change any question’s marks directly, or give the AI an instruction such as “accept equivalent wording in Q4”. It proposes a revised score with an explanation, and you choose to accept or reject it. Marks you set always override the AI.
Which subjects and question types does it handle?
Point-based subjects such as maths, sciences and computer science, and level-based ones such as English, Urdu, humanities and Pak Studies. It handles MCQs, fill in the blanks, short and long answers, multi-part questions with several levels of nesting, diagrams and tables inside questions, and “answer any 2 of 3” choice sections.
Which languages are supported?
English and Urdu, including papers that mix both. Urdu is read in its own script, right to left, and is never converted to Roman Urdu. Math is read as formulas. Other languages may work because the reading model handles many scripts, but they are not tuned, so try a sample first.
How well does it read messy handwriting?
Pages are read one at a time. When writing is too faint, overlapping or a formula is too complex to read reliably, it is flagged for your review instead of guessed, and the score stays provisional until you check the original script. Clear, well-lit photos make a real difference.
What do I upload to create a test?
Your question paper as a photo or PDF, and your marking scheme. Questions, marks, nested parts, diagrams and tables are extracted, and the marking scheme becomes a rubric you can edit. You can also build the paper by hand, or have the AI draft a rubric for a question that has no scheme. Once you share the test it locks, so questions and rubric can’t change under students.
How do students take the test and submit?
They join with the link or short token you share. New students create an account through it and are linked to your class automatically. They see the questions and a countdown, write on paper, then photograph their pages (up to 60) or upload a PDF before time runs out. Each student gets one attempt.
How does the timer work, and what if a connection drops?
The countdown runs on our server, so refreshing or reopening the page never resets it. Leaving the test tab is logged, and you see the tab-exit count beside each attempt. You set the closing date, and no new attempt can start after it. If a student loses internet or power, you can add time to their attempt from your portal.
What if a student answers in a different order?
Answers are matched to questions by their labels and content, not by position. Out-of-order answers, parts like (a)(i) or (b)(ii), and answers that continue onto later pages are routed to the right question before marking.
What do students and I get after marking?
Students get marks per question, what earned credit, what was missed, an improvement tip, and highlights on their own handwriting. They also get a learning path built from their weak concepts. You get class averages, trends, weak-concept alerts and a student-by-test mastery matrix for each class.
What counts as a “page”?
One page of a student’s answer sheet that the platform reads uses one page of your monthly allowance. For example, a class of 30 students writing a 4-page paper uses about 120 pages, so Basic (4,000 pages a month) covers roughly 33 such tests and Pro (10,000 pages a month) about 80.
How do billing and the page allowance work?
Plans are billed monthly in PKR, and each one includes its page allowance every month: 4,000 pages on Basic and 10,000 on Pro. Every plan has the full platform, and only the page volume differs. If you use up your pages, you can add more at any time. Contact us by email or WhatsApp.
Is student data safe?
Answer sheets are sent to Google’s Gemini model for reading and grading. Accounts, rubrics and scores stay in our own database, passwords are stored hashed, teachers see only their own classes and tests, and students see only their own results.
